Review your unit 3 personal assessment of your psychological, physical, and spiritual well-being. Reflect on these areas . How did you score yourself on a scale from 1 to 10 in unit 3? How do you score yourself now? Has the score changed? Why or why not?
I gave myself between a 4 and 5 in my physical well-being, and honestly that's still about the same. I have made more of an effort to workout but I am not doing all that I could. I have too much going on in other parts of my life to worry about working out everyday. My spiritual well-being I rated at a 5. I think that is definitely higher now. I feel that I would be about at a 7 now. I feel more calm generally and I have started to get back into prayer. As for my psychological well-being I gave myself a 5 I would say that is now a 7 also. I have worked through a lot of issues I had with my fathers death last year and I am trying to move forward.
Review the goals and activities you set for yourself in each area. Have you made progress toward the goals? Explain.
As for the goals list, I did not complete going to the gym three times a week. I am lucky if I make it there once a week! I did go for a while, however life got in the way. ( I know, I know..excuses! haha) Spiritually I have grown, I have started to talk to God again. I am starting to feel a connection again unlike before. Psychologically, I started a journal however, I did not keep it up! I hope to pick it back up, because it was a good outlet when things get rough!
Summarize your personal experience throughout this course. Have you developed improved well-being? What has been rewarding? What has been difficult? How will this experience improve your ability to assist others?
I really had a struggle with this course at first, I never really thought about all the aspects involved in health besides the obvious which is physical. But this class has opened my eyes to the idea that you really need to treat the whole body and not just the symptoms you have for a cold. If we can blend these worlds together we can help a lot more people than we ever imagined. I think this class has helped me learn compassion, and understanding and patience. Meditation has taught me patience quite a bit! I learned a lot and I really enjoyed this class!
I have to agree that this course changed my idea on health and I am a part of healthcare. Often it is the physical we asses, but after the many areas studied these 10 weeks, I have realized there is so much more to successful healthy lives. I plan on implementing what i learned in this course not only to improve my own health, but my patients' hea;th as well.
ReplyDeleteAs for your physical goal, start with one day a week, then after a few weeks, add 2 and then 3, It is gradual steps to make sure adequate days are set in the gym. then also begin with 30 min on days that your feel you have no time. Simple 30min of high impact aerobics or cardio is just as good as an hr of low.
